Rupert and Buckley - Harper Adams Summer Ball!

Rupert and Buckley - Harper Adams Summer Ball!

We're giving a massive shout out to Harper Adams Student Union to say thanks for putting on such an epic night on Saturday 24th June. We were really proud to sponsor the event and even more proud to be there on the day/night and get to meet so many fantastic students who made the event such fun for us!

We took lots of energy, some hugely loud shirts and lots of water with us - however, it turned out not be quite enough but well worth sticking 1000 labels on all the bottles as the students were really grateful for any we did have and it was a great way to meet so many!

Our socks were hugely popular and for the small price of wearing them all evening we were happy to give them away - we're looking forward to seeing lots of Instagram posts with us tagged in them - hopefully most of the socks survived the night.....

However, our lay-bags which proved hugely popular didn't fare so well.....

But they made great blankets for some at the end of the night!

A star is born 'Eve-Yasmine' *Exclusive*

22 year old Pop/Soul singer and songwriter Eve-Yasmine has released her debut music video and single ‘Habibi’ written and produced by Kylan.

    Watch here: https://youtu.be/pWdLfhbHwao (27,700+ views)

The music video clip directed by Eve-Yasmine herself is a magical love at first sight story that opens in the beautiful blue city - Chefchaouen where we follow a lost young woman, Eve-Yasmine, through the alleyways of the medina as she is pursued by her modern day prince charming, her ‘Habibi’ - played by Jack Parr (Mr British Empire 2014).

Named a hit by national and international media, and shared by numerous music artists, supporters and fans, this debut perfectly introduces Eve-Yasmine’s soulful musical fusion that mixes pop sounds with oriental influences.

Based in London, Eve-Yasmine has British, Moroccan and Spanish roots. The singer has been out in Morocco this Summer creating a media buzz with her new single and was invited to sing at the MRE Festival in the stadium Complexe Al Amal after only one day of Habibi being out on YouTube!

Listen to Dragonette’s New Single, ‘Sweet Poison’ (Exclusive)

Listen to Dragonette’s New Single, ‘Sweet Poison’ (Exclusive)

Article originally posted in the Wall Street Journal

Four years and a difficult separation later, Canadian electro-pop group Dragonette is set to release a new album.

“Royal Blues,” the group’s first LP since 2012′s “Bodyparts,” will be released Nov. 11. “Sweet Poison,” a track off the new record, premieres exclusively on Speakeasy below.

“Royal Blues” was a long time coming in large part due to the way vocalist and writerMartina Sorbara and crew work. “We are very slow. We are not super-prolific people,” Sorbara said.

Sorbara and her husband, Dragonette co-founder and musician Dan Kurtz, also went through a separation in the meantime. “It made everything kind of difficult, but the creative process was, all of a sudden, completely different,” Sorbara said. “We had to figure out what we were and who we were and how we work and everything. It was like starting from zero.”

Because of that, she added, Sorbara and Kurtz weren’t confident that they would be able to release anything, let alone a new album. But now they’re both happy about releasing the album, and they maintained a creative relationship, she said.

The situation influenced Sorbara’s writing for “Royal Blues,” her emotions propelling her during the process. As a result, the album has a melancholy tinge, but it’s not entirely sad.

“When I listen to it, I realize what a growth period these past years have been,” she said. “I feel like I hear the joy of learning about life and love, like losing some naivety and becoming aware of how seriously sad and amazing living is.”
